Hello and thank you for taking the time to check out all that is going on in Fall Concert Band! Here is what is going on this week.
At the beginning of the school year, all students received paperwork to return. The paperwork included an emergency medical form and a $15 cleaning fee to cover the cost of cleaning the uniforms throughout the school year. Letters were sent home with students today (Monday, 9/21/15) about any outstanding materials they have. I am trying my best to wrap up the paperwork this week and there are still quite a bit of forms and fees outstanding. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please don't hesitate to contact me.
We are beginning the process of playing assessments this week. Students received information last week about this process - you can check out a copy of the paperwork and rubric here (under the announcements section of the page). Students have the option of testing with me in person (before or after school or during their intervention time) or making a recording of their performance and emailing it to me. There are three pieces students need to perform for the grading period and students are free to choose the order in which they complete the assessments.
All students enrolled in enriched band should currently be working on completing their projects to earn their ten points for the quarter. If students have any questions or concerns about this work, please see me as soon as possible so we can be on track to complete our plan and submit work by the end of the quarter (Thursday, October 15).
Finally, please be sure our concert - Monday, November 2 at 7:00 p.m. in the CFHS Auditorium - is listed on your family calendar of events. The students have been working very hard and I look forward to sharing our music with all of you!
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me at 330.926.3808, ext. 502083 or at email@example.com.
